SENIO ALIRIO DIAZ nasceu em Siena e dedicou-se ao estudo da guitarra com o seu pai, o famoso Alirio Diaz e mais tarde com os mestres U. Incutti, A. Amato e C. Carfagna, obtendo um diploma do Conservatório “Santa Cecilia” em Roma.
Frequentou os cursos de composição dos mestres C. Cammarota e Renzi no Pontifício Instituto de Música Sacra em Roma e o curso de direcção do maestro S. Celibidache em Trier, Alemanha.
Antigo professor no “i. Landaeta” de Caracas, Senio Alirio Diaz é actualmente professor no “Conservatório de Salerno” de G. Martucci e depois na Academia Internacional de Música da Fundação Alirio Diaz em Roma.
Lecciona cursos de pós-graduação em Itália e no estrangeiro.
Há vários anos que se dedica com sucesso a concertos, actuando como solista, em duo com o seu pai ou em vários conjuntos de câmara, nos principais centros musicais italianos e estrangeiros, incluindo a Academia Nacional de Santa Cecília, o Instituto Universitário de Concertos de Roma, o Teatro Teresa Carreno de Caracas, a Maison de l’Amerique Latine de Paris, a Orquestra Presidencial de Ankara, a Academia Real de Londres, o Teatro Nacional de Helsínquia, a Universidade de Washington, etc.
É frequentemente convidado solista com as Orquestras Juvenis da Venezuela nos primeiros anos, dirigido pelo Maestro José Antonio Abreu, fundador do Sistema de Orquestras Juvenis da Venezuela.
Está também frequentemente presente nos júris das mais importantes competições nacionais e internacionais de guitarra.
É vice-presidente da Fundacion “Alirio Diaz” que trabalha activamente a nível intercontinental para a difusão da música de guitarra, com particular atenção ao repertório latino-americano.
É o fundador do Concurso Nacional “Alirio Diaz”, que se realiza anualmente na Venezuela e do Concurso Internacional “Alirio Diaz” para jovens guitarristas, que terá lugar em Roma em Junho de 2012.
Como sinal de estima, pelos seus reconhecidos méritos artísticos, em 1986 Andrès Segovia quis dar-lhe uma guitarra Fleta, com a qual actua actualmente.

SENIO ALIRIO DIAZ was born in Siena and devoted himself to the study of the guitar with his father, the famous Alirio Diaz and later with the masters U. Incutti, A. Amato and C. Carfagna, obtaining a diploma from the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome.

Former teacher at the “i. Landaeta ”of Caracas, Senio Alirio Diaz is currently a teacher at the“ G.Martucci ”Conservatory of Salerno and then at the International Academy of Music of the Alirio Diaz Foundation in Rome.
He teaches postgraduate courses in Italy and abroad.
For several years he has been successfully dedicating himself to concerts, performing as a soloist, in duo with his father or in various chamber ensembles, in the main Italian and foreign musical centers including the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, University Institution of concerts in Rome, the Teresa Carreno Theater of Caracas, the Maison de l’Amerique Latine of Paris, the Presidencial Orchestra of Ankara, the Royal Academy of London, the National Theater of Helsinky, Washington University etc.
He is often invited soloist with the Youth Orchestras of Venezuela in the early years conducted by Maestro Jose Antonio Abreu, founder of the System of Youth Orchestras of Venezuela.
He is also frequently present in the juries of the most important national and international guitar competitions.
He is vice-president of the Fundacion “Alirio Diaz” which actively works at an intercontinental level for the diffusion of guitar music with particular attention to the Latin-American repertoire.
He is the founder of the “Alirio Diaz” National Competition which takes place annually in Venezuela and of the “Alirio Diaz” International Competition for young guitarists which will take place in Rome in June 2012.
As a sign of esteem, for his recognized artistic merits, in 1986 Andrès Segovia wanted to give him a Fleta guitar with which he currently performs.
